Who should go?
La Residence is the only place in Hue that has truly earned the title of being "luxury." If you like being pampered, or at least have considered it as a possible lifestyle, a stay at La Residence is mandatory.
When to go?
Central Vietnam's rainy season lasts from the end of September to the beginning of November. Hue's been known to flood, so it is best to avoid the Imperial city during thus time.
Where is it?
La Residence is at the head of Le Loi Street in a quiet area. There isn't much to walk to from here, though taxis are always close on hand to take you to where you want to go.
What's not to be missed?
The pool is a great place to relax after a day of touring ancient Hue's monuments and mausoleums. The comfortable chairs and views of the Perfume River make time slip by quickly slip by. The hotel library is also a great place to spend some quality time with some coffee and a favorite book.
What's cooking?
The French cuisine here is top-notch as is the large breakfast buffet. Be prepared for some misunderstandings while ordering. The service is the best in Hue, which still lags behind the standards set by Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and nearby Hoi An.
